The Student Assessment Guide and Learning Plan describes the evidence required to be competent in this unit.

You can track your progress by comparing it against unit requirements and at every stage of your learning and study. You can also get support from your iTAFE mentor and advisor.

There are many ways that you might choose to make your way through the unit. The diagram and suggested sessions (below) will help to plan your learning through the Coach Others in Job Skills unit. The sessions outlined below are a suggestion only - you may have another way that you prefer to study

  • Open questioning techniques
  • Factors for individualising coaching 
  • Principles of learning

Session 3: Coach colleagues on the job & Follow up Coaching - Yellow & Red tiles

This includes:
  • Task breakdown
  • Training plan
  • Planning a coaching session
  • SMART objectives
  • Coaching environment 
  • Provide feedback
  • Follow up coaching
  • training records
  • Identify performance problems 

A few points to think about for your blog:
Do you think effective communication is important when coaching? Explain your answer? 

As a coach, how could you effectively communicate with your trainee? 
 
When assessing the trainee, why is it important to know your planned outcomes? How do they help?   
Provide four examples of methods which could be used to evaluate your performance as a coach and the success or your coaching?
